2019 Kaitlin Murphy Foundation Award Recipients
Fighter of the Year: Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake
Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake is president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, leading strategic, programmatic, and operational efforts to fulfill the Foundation’s mission to lead sustainable solutions that improve the health and wellness of the community. 

While overseeing grant-making work for the $90 million Foundation, Marshall-Blake steered the Foundation to be a collaborator, innovator, convener of diverse organizations, and thought leader in addressing emerging health needs in southeastern Pennsylvania, including the Someone You Know; Facing the Opioid Crisis Together campaign.
Champion of the Year: Director Fred Harran
Director Fred Harran has been instrumental in the fight against the opioid crisis in Bucks County, where he has served in law enforcement with the Bensalem Police Department for 32 years and is currently the Director of Public Safety for Bensalem Township. 

Director Harran also serves on many law enforcement and community boards and organizations, including the Bucks County Chiefs of Police Assoc. and Exec. Board of the Delaware Valley Crime Commission, and he was elected to the PA Chiefs of Police Executive Board and to the State Assoc. of Chiefs of Police (SACOP).
